The School of Environment at Harbin Institute of Technology promotes international cooperation with an open approach, establishing a diversified cooperation system covering education, scientific research, and talent exchange.
Inter-institutional collaboration continues to deepen. Relying on platforms such as the Sino-Russian University Alliance of Engineering and Technology, we have launched cooperative education programs with institutions including Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Russia to jointly cultivate international talent. Simultaneously, through initiatives like co-hosting academic seminars, we have established research and exchange agreements with universities across multiple countries.
The scientific research collaborations is globalized. On the basis of the existing ones, new partners such as North-Eastern Federal University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and Politecnico di Torinohave been added. A stable cooperative framework has been established with multiple globally renowned universities, focusing on joint research in cutting-edge fields like water environment management and green, low-carbon urban renewal. Collaborative efforts in membrane water treatment, novel eco-friendly materials, and ecological conservation have yielded numerous high-level achievements.
The talent exchange mechanism has been further improved, with regular exchanges are carried out on a regular basis.. Through international exchange programs, faculty and students are dispatched for overseas visits and investigations. At the same time, the university is advancing the development of joint graduate training programs to continuously broaden the international horizons of its academic community and elevate the global standing of its disciplines. Every year, scholars from institutions such as the National University of Singapore and KU Leuven in Belgium participate in academic exchanges. Annual international exchanges involving faculty and students exceed 300 visits, driving the deep integration of international research and talent development.
